Who are we?

We’re a small, local team from Lapland who believe that no one should freeze on their holiday. Lumia Wear is run by sisters Sini and Piia, along with our practical-minded partner Jari. Lumia comes from “lumi” – the Finnish word for snow!

Lumia Wear was born from a simple idea: help visitors enjoy Lapland in comfort, without the hassle of buying or packing expensive winter gear. All our clothing and equipment is carefully selected, tested, and approved by us — for real Lapland weather.

We’re passionate about:

Warm, easy and reliable service – Local help and real advice from people who live here, your winter gear delivered on time, with a wink and a warm smile.

We (Sini & Piia) also run a yoga studio called Lumia Wellness, so If the in‑laws—or the minus‑30 °C—are testing your nerves, slip away to our cozy, warm yoga studio. You will find our cosy studio from the same place, Rovakatu 24!

Hi there! I’m Piia – a movement & wellbeing professional from the Finnish Lakeland, now living my Arctic dream up north in Rovaniemi.

I’ve spent 20+ years as a physical education teacher, yoga and mindfulness coach, and a big fan of slow living and warm socks.Over the years, I’ve suited up students, my own kids, and just about everyone in between – so I know how to keep small and big people warm without the tantrums!

I believe in layering, kindness (to yourself!), and making winter adventures warmer – one cozy fleece at a time.

Welcome to the north! I’ll make sure you dress smart, stay warm, and maybe even smile while it’s snowing sideways!

Hi! I’m Sini – co-founder of Lumia Wear, yoga teacher, and hiking enthusiast. Whether I’m out camping under the midnight sun, climbing a fell or chilling at the beach, I feel most alive outdoors.

I’m passionate about movement, mindfulness, and making life (and travel!) feel good. I believe the right gear can turn a cold day into a magical one, and I’m here to help you stay warm and happy while you explore the wonders of Lapland.

When I’m not layering people up for adventure, I’m teaching yoga at Lumia Wellness.
I also adore traveling and meeting people from all over the world. I used to live in Spain, so don’t be surprised if I sneak in a little español – ¡me encanta practicar contigo!

Hi, I’m Jari – an entrepreneur with a passion for building things that work (and work well!). I’ve spent years running businesses in webshops, coding, tourism, as well as winter sports – so you could say I know my way around both snow and servers.

At Lumia Wear, I’m the one making sure our webshop runs smoothly – whether you’re booking from your phone or a remote cabin deep in Lapland. I like things to be simple, reliable, and practical – just like good winter gear.

I might not teach yoga (yet), but I do make sure your rental experience is as effortless as freshly waxed skis on a frozen lake.
